Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif held a telephone conversation today with Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, to discuss key matters, including the recent ceasefire.
According to sources, the conversation was warm and cordial, lasting over 45 minutes. During the call, the Prime Minister congratulated the Iranian President on the ceasefire and discussed the formal commencement of upcoming negotiations between Iran and the United States.
The Prime Minister appreciated the wisdom and foresight of the Iranian leadership in agreeing to the ceasefire. He also praised Iran’s decision to open the Strait of Hormuz and conveyed his respects to Mojtaba Khamenei.
President Pezeshkian thanked Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and commended Pakistan’s leadership role in achieving the temporary ceasefire between Iran and the U.S. He also extended best wishes to the people of Pakistan and confirmed Iran’s participation in the upcoming negotiations in Islamabad. At the conclusion of the conversation, both leaders agreed to remain in close contact.
