Addressing the ceremony, Chief Justice Yahya Afridi welcomed the Turkish delegation and said the memorandum of understanding (MoU) is significant for constitutional governance and the protection of fundamental rights in both countries. He described the agreement as more than just a formal document, saying it provides an opportunity for both judiciaries to collaborate and move forward together.

He also recalled his participation in the 63rd anniversary of the Turkish Constitutional Court and mentioned engaging with artificial intelligence experts in Istanbul, noting that similar expertise was later invited to Pakistan for a symposium. He added that arrangements were also made for judicial officers from Pakistan to visit Türkiye to observe its modern judicial system.

Turkish Constitutional Court President Kadir Özkaya said the justice system is a fundamental pillar of life. He praised the competence of Pakistani judges and expressed pleasure at visiting Pakistan, noting the strong brotherly relations between the two countries.

He added that the day marks an important milestone for both nations, highlighting that the judicial systems of Pakistan and Türkiye share many common values.

According to sources, the agreement aims to enhance judicial cooperation through training, exchange of best practices, and the use of modern technology to improve the delivery of justice. It also emphasizes collaboration in the professional training of the district judiciary and is expected to expand cooperation in judicial reforms.

The Turkish delegation, led by Kadir Özkaya, is visiting Pakistan from April 6 to April 9 and is also expected to visit historical sites in Taxila and Lahore.
