Bangladesh Cricket Board writes to BCCI to restore relations

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has written a letter to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in an effort to restore and strengthen bilateral relations between the two cricket boards.

According to Indian media reports, the BCB is actively working to improve ties with the Indian board and has expressed interest in expanding cooperation in both existing and new areas of cricket.

BCB Director of Cricket Operations Nazmul Abedeen Fahim said in media remarks that the board remains in regular contact with various cricketing bodies, and the letter to the BCCI is part of those ongoing communications.

He noted that Bangladesh has informed the BCCI about upcoming scheduled tours, including India’s planned visit to Bangladesh in September, followed by Bangladesh’s women’s team touring India.

Nazmul Abedeen Fahim added that the BCB has also requested the BCCI to explore additional opportunities for bilateral cricket between the two countries.

Tensions between the two boards had previously been reported after Bangladesh fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman was excluded from the Indian Premier League, which contributed to strained relations, and Bangladesh had also declined to participate in a T20 World Cup hosted in India at the time.
