Seven killed as floods hit multiple Balochistan districts

Rainfall and flash floods across several districts of Balochistan have resulted in the deaths of seven people and injuries to several others, according to a report issued by the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA).

The report stated that fatalities and injuries were reported from districts including Harnai, Kohlu, Turbat, Jaffarabad, Loralai, and Kachhi, where heavy rains triggered flooding and damage to infrastructure and settlements.

In Bala Nari, the collapse of a protective embankment led to the destruction of around 100 houses, the death of 50 livestock, and submergence of approximately 400 acres of agricultural land, causing significant losses to local communities.

Director General PDMA said that nearly 100 houses were also damaged in Harnai and Qilla Abdullah due to the impact of torrential rains and flooding. He further noted that in Jhal Magsi, floodwaters caused the Gandawah–Notal road to be blocked, disrupting connectivity in the area.

Authorities have continued relief and assessment efforts in the affected districts as emergency teams remain engaged in monitoring the situation and providing assistance to impacted residents.
