The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued an initial report detailing the human and material losses caused by rainfall since March 25 across various districts of the province.
According to a PDMA spokesperson, the deceased include 14 children, one man, and two women, while the injured comprise 25 men, 5 women, and 26 children. The report also stated that a total of 11 houses sustained partial damage due to the rains.
The incidents were reported from multiple districts including Bannu, Abbottabad, Kohat, Upper Dir, Bajaur, Battagram, and North Waziristan.
PDMA, Rescue 1122, district administrations, and relevant agencies remain in close coordination, and relief operations are ongoing. The PDMA has instructed district authorities in the affected areas to ensure the timely provision of relief supplies to the victims.
Special directives have been issued to the administration of Bannu, the most affected district, to expedite assistance for the families of the deceased. Authorities have also been asked to accelerate relief efforts and provide immediate support to those impacted.
Rainfall continues intermittently across different parts of the province and is expected to persist until Tuesday.
The PDMA Director General has urged the public to avoid unnecessary travel, refrain from visiting sensitive tourist areas, and follow government advisories and alerts.
According to the PDMA spokesperson, the Emergency Operations Center remains fully operational. Citizens have been advised to contact the free helpline 1700 for information, weather updates, and reporting any untoward incidents.
