PIA completes pre-Hajj flight operations preparations

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has completed preparations for its pre-Hajj flight operations, which are scheduled to begin on April 18 and continue until May 21.

According to sources, PIA will initially operate flights to Madinah and Jeddah. The national carrier is expected to transport more than 60,000 pilgrims to the holy land through 202 flights.

Of the total pilgrims, 49,000 will travel under the government Hajj scheme, while 11,000 will proceed under the private Hajj scheme, sources said.

PIA will operate direct flights from multiple cities, including Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Sialkot, Quetta, Faisalabad and Multan, ensuring broader accessibility for pilgrims across the country.

Sources further indicated that the post-Hajj flight operation will commence on May 30 and continue until June 30. The airline will utilise Boeing 777 and Airbus A320 aircraft for the Hajj operations.
