Interior minister Mohsin Naqvi meets Chinese ambassador in Islamabad

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited the Chinese Embassy in the diplomatic enclave and held a meeting with Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zedong.

The ambassador welcomed Minister Naqvi upon arrival, and the two officials discussed key issues including counter-terrorism, security cooperation, and police exchange programs.

The overall regional situation was also reviewed during the meeting.

To address security challenges faced by Chinese investors in Pakistan, both sides agreed to organize a business conference. In the first phase, meetings will be held with the existing Chinese business community in Pakistan, followed by sessions with investors interested in future projects.

Minister Naqvi announced the establishment of a Special Protection Unit to safeguard foreign nationals, particularly Chinese citizens in Islamabad. The unit’s personnel will receive specialized training, including instruction in the Chinese language, to ensure effective protection.
