A special committee of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly convened to discuss developments in the Radio Pakistan Peshawar attack case, revealing key progress in the investigation.
The meeting was attended by the CCPO Peshawar, the Advocate General, and prosecution officials, while the Chief Secretary, Additional Chief Secretary (Home), and IG Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were absent. Out of the 14-member committee, only five assembly members were present.
The committee discussed the nomination of CM Suhail Afridi in the case and sought clarification on how he was named in the charge sheet, as well as the current status of the prosecution proceedings.
During the session, the investigative officer for the case was summoned to provide details. Sources indicated that the Chief Minister’s nomination followed the emergence of key video evidence related to the attack.
The committee’s consultation marks a significant step in reviewing the legal and investigative aspects of the high-profile Radio Pakistan Peshawar attack case.
