Indian filmmaker and choreographer Farah Khan has revealed why she initially avoided working with actor Akshaye Khanna during the early years of her career.
Speaking in a recent podcast, the 61-year-old filmmaker shared that she often refrained from collaborating with Khanna in the 1990s because he had a reputation for being moody and difficult to work with on film sets.
Farah Khan also said that another factor at the time was the actor’s struggle with rapid hair loss, which she believed added to his stress and affected his temperament during that period.
She recalled that whenever a project involved Akshaye Khanna in those days, she would often make excuses such as unavailability of dates to avoid taking up the assignment.
However, Farah Khan said her perception changed after they worked together in the film Dil Chahta Hai, which marked a turning point in how she viewed the actor.
According to the filmmaker, by the time of that project Khanna’s attitude had become much more positive and calm, which helped improve their professional relationship.
Farah Khan also praised his performance in the film and described him as a talented performer and a good dancer, particularly mentioning his appearance in the popular song Koi Kahe Kehta Rahe from the movie.
