SECP increases Sahulat Account investment limit to Rs30 lakh

The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan has announced an increase in the investment limit for Sahulat Accounts in the stock market, raising it from Rs10 lakh to Rs30 lakh.

According to the regulator, the Sahulat Account provides investors with a simple and secure way to enter the stock market for the first time. Investors can now open multiple Sahulat Accounts with different brokers, though only one account per broker is allowed.

The SECP noted that Sahulat Accounts can be opened using a valid CNIC and are also available online, offering added convenience for investors.

Currently, the number of sub-accounts for individual investors in the stock market stands at 542,000, while the total number of investor accounts and Roshan Digital Accounts is 144,000.

The SECP advised investors to avoid unauthorized foreign investment platforms and encouraged young investors to use Sahulat Accounts to participate in Pakistan’s capital market.
