Kashaf Ali calls mobile phones a ‘modern-day fitna’

Emerging Pakistani actress, model and influencer Kashaf Ali has termed mobile phones a “modern-day fitna,” expressing concern over the growing impact of social media on younger generations.

Kashaf Ali previously made headlines after a video of her with national cricketer Saim Ayub went viral. She later drew attention for publicly exposing an individual accused of harassing her on social media.

In a recent podcast appearance, the actress spoke candidly on various social issues. Despite being an influencer herself, her critical remarks about mobile phones and social media platforms surprised many.

She said social media has placed Generation Z under immense pressure, where self-worth is increasingly measured by the number of likes and dislikes on posts. According to her, this dependency has turned into an addiction affecting nearly everyone.

Calling smartphones a major trial of the modern age, Kashaf observed that people remain glued to screens, resulting in growing isolation and weakening real-life connections.
She added that the issue is not limited to the youth, noting that even older individuals — including her own parents — remain occupied with constant scrolling.

Although she acknowledged her own presence as a digital influencer, Kashaf Ali maintained that, in her view, mobile phones are no longer proving beneficial for human well-being.
