President Asif Ali Zardari has warned that Pakistan’s eastern neighbor is supporting the Taliban regime, which poses a threat not only to Pakistan but to regional and global peace.
In a statement, the president said certain neighboring countries are complicit in crimes by allowing terrorist elements to operate against Pakistan from their soil. He added that some of these nations provide direct financial, technical, and military assistance to such groups.
President Zardari described the situation created by the Taliban regime as more dangerous than conditions before the 9/11 attacks.
He also expressed gratitude to global leaders and countries that extended solidarity with Pakistan following the recent terrorist attack.
The comments came after a suicide bombing at the Khadijah-ul-Kubra Mosque and Imambargah in the suburban area of Tarlai, Islamabad, during Friday prayers two days ago, which killed 33 people and injured over 150 others.
