The Federal Ombudsman for Protection Against Harassment (FOSPA) has successfully resolved a Rs10 crore inheritance dispute in Sector I-8, Islamabad, awarding Huma Batool her legal share of the property.
Huma Batool had filed a complaint to claim her portion of her late father’s estate, raising a legal dispute against her two brothers and mother. FOSPA coordinated with the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to verify the property’s allocation and ownership among legal heirs.
The main disagreement centered on the valuation of the property. To ensure fairness and transparency, FOSPA appointed a local commission, which determined the property’s market value at Rs10 crore.
All parties agreed on the valuation, and Huma Batool was paid Rs1.75 crore as her legal share. Following the payment, she also recorded a statement in favor of her brother, Asim Maqbool, officially closing the case.
A FOSPA spokesperson said the resolution not only protected legal inheritance rights but also helped settle the family dispute amicably.
