MUZAFFARABAD (Lord Media): In the third phase of the Azad Kashmir Legislative Assembly elections 2026, polling will take place today in four constituencies of Poonch Division’s two districts, Bagh and Haveli. According to the new schedule, voting will occur in three constituencies of Bagh and one in Haveli, while elections in five constituencies of Poonch and two of Sudhnoti have been postponed.
These constituencies are in the spotlight due to the involvement of leaders from the Muslim Conference and IPP, including Azad Kashmir Prime Minister Faisal Rathore. The Chief Election Commissioner stated that 460,000 voters are expected to cast their votes, and security arrangements are complete.
In the first phase of the Azad Kashmir Assembly elections, the Muslim League-N secured nine seats and the People’s Party won four seats. In the second phase, the Muslim League-N achieved 15 seats, while the People’s Party gained six. So far, the Muslim League-N leads with 24 seats, followed by the People’s Party with 10 seats.
The Azad Kashmir Election Commission has announced the postponement of elections in the districts of Poonch and Sudhnoti.
