PESHAWAR (Lord Media): The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Local Government Department has increased the special conveyance allowance for disabled government employees and the pension for Local Council Board pensioners. According to the notification, the special conveyance allowance for disabled employees has been increased from 6,000 rupees to 10,000 rupees monthly, effective from July 1, 2026.
The allowance increase will benefit officers and staff of the Local Council Board, as well as eligible disabled employees of the Local Governance School, Capital Metropolitan Government Peshawar, and Tehsil Municipal Administrations.
The Local Government Department stated that the special conveyance allowance will be disbursed according to the terms and conditions set by the Finance Department. The decision to increase the allowance was made during a Local Council Board meeting.
Additionally, a 7% increase in net pension has been granted to Local Council Board pensioners. This increase will also benefit pensioners from the Local Governance School, Capital Metropolitan Government Peshawar, and all Tehsil Municipal Administrations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Officials stated that the aim of increasing the allowance and pension is to provide additional financial relief to government employees and retirees amid current economic conditions.
