LAHORE (Lord Media): Former Pakistan cricket captain Rashid Latif has advised that the national team’s captain, Babar Azam, should have minimal interaction with the English media during the England tour. He suggested that the Pakistan Cricket Board’s management should adopt a strategy to limit Babar’s exposure to the English press.
Latif highlighted that tours to England are always challenging and the local media sometimes attempts to entangle visiting teams in unnecessary controversies. Therefore, he emphasized the need for special caution regarding Babar Azam.
Rashid Latif proposed that former captain Shan Masood should be the primary spokesperson for the English media, given his experience of playing cricket in England and his familiarity with the media there. He also mentioned that Imam-ul-Haq and Mohammad Abbas could be good choices for media interactions.
It is noteworthy that the Pakistan cricket team has arrived in England for a three-match Test series. The first Test against England is scheduled to begin on August 19 at Headingley, Leeds.
