BANNU (Lord Media): A suicide attack attempt was thwarted near the Miryan Police Station in Bannu district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Wednesday evening. Following the collision of an explosive-laden vehicle, police swiftly responded, resulting in the martyrdom of one police officer and injuries to five individuals. The injured were transported to the District Headquarters Hospital Bannu for medical treatment.
DPO Bannu Furqan Bilal stated that after the explosion, an exchange of fire occurred between police and the attackers. The police cordoned off the area and conducted a search and clearance operation.
Commissioner Bannu Division Captain (Retd) Khalid Mehmood and DIG Bannu Region Rab Nawaz Khan visited the DHQ Hospital to inquire about the condition of the injured.
The funeral prayer for the martyred police officer was held with official honors at Police Lines Bannu, attended by senior officials and citizens.
