Pakistan sees 13 pct more rainfall in pre-monsoon

ISLAMABAD (Lord Media): The Meteorological Department has released a report for the pre-monsoon season from April to June 2026, indicating that rainfall across the country was 13 percent above normal. During this period, an average of 73 millimeters of rain was recorded nationwide.

According to the report, Punjab experienced 23 percent more rainfall than usual, while Khyber Pakhtunkhwa saw a 15 percent increase, and Azad Kashmir recorded 10 percent more rain.

Balochistan also received 10 percent more rainfall than normal, whereas Sindh’s rainfall was approximately in line with the average.

The Meteorological Department noted that Gilgit-Baltistan was the only region where pre-monsoon rainfall was 17 percent below normal.
