DHAKA (Lord Media): The death toll from ongoing floods in Bangladesh has reached 54, according to the Ministry of Disaster Management. The situation is critically severe in 11 districts, with Chittagong city submerged. One million people are stranded, awaiting aid.
The highest number of fatalities, 31, have been reported in Cox’s Bazar, while Chittagong has seen 13 deaths, Bandarban 6, Rangamati 3, and Moulvibazar 1.
Bangladesh has declared 59 sub-districts as disaster zones, with 333 union councils affected by the floods. To aid the victims, 1,100 shelters have been established, housing 38,442 people.
