GDA officials seek transfer over aide’s conduct

PESHAWAR (Lord Media): Officials from the Galiyat Development Authority (GDA) have requested transfers due to dissatisfaction with the conduct of Adeel Iqbal, Special Assistant on Tourism. According to sources, Iqbal’s behavior during his recent visit to Galiyat was inappropriate towards the officials.

Sources revealed that videos of the visit were also shared on social media. Following the incident, three senior GDA officials, including DG Muhammad Fahad, Director Administration Noor-ul-Haq, and Director Building Control Farrukh Jadoon, have submitted transfer requests to the Chief Secretary.

The officials stated in their request that the public statements and social media coverage during the recent visit have affected the department’s environment and caused legal and administrative ambiguities, hindering effective performance.

Special Assistant Adeel Iqbal stated that he visited Galiyat in response to public complaints and actions will be taken against encroachments as per the Chief Minister’s directives. He added that if anyone has requested a transfer, it is their personal matter.
