GENEVA (Lord Media): According to the UBS Global Wealth Report 2026, Switzerland has been declared the richest country in the world in terms of average wealth per adult, with 910,000 U.S. dollars.
The report states that the United States and Luxembourg are ranked second and third, respectively, while Hong Kong and Singapore also feature among the top positions.
Luxembourg secured the first position in terms of median wealth per adult with 394,000 U.S. dollars, while Belgium and Australia are ranked second and third, respectively, in median wealth.
In the Gulf countries, Qatar ranks 27th in average wealth, while the United Arab Emirates is 29th. In terms of median wealth, Qatar is 24th, but the UAE does not feature in the top 30 countries.
The report highlights that average wealth measurements are affected by the presence of a limited number of wealthy individuals, whereas median wealth reflects the distribution of wealth across society.
