Illegal migration claims 335 Pakistani lives in four years

ISLAMABAD (Lord Media): Over the past four years, 335 Pakistanis have died attempting to reach Europe by sea, according to FIA documents. Since June 2023, seven fatal boat accidents have been reported despite ongoing efforts to reach Europe illegally, with human trafficking networks encouraging dangerous journeys.

The report highlights that fatalities in these boat accidents raise questions about the perilous routes. In June 2023, a boat accident en route to Greece involved 226 Pakistanis, of whom 207 died and 19 survived.

In December 2024, another boat bound for Greece met with an accident, carrying 69 Pakistanis. In this incident, 25 Pakistanis died while 44 were rescued.

According to documents, a boat accident near Morocco in January 2025 involved 70 Pakistanis. In February 2025, a boat accident in Libya identified 40 Pakistanis, with 23 dead and 13 survivors.

FIA documents revealed that between 2025 and 2026, four major boat accidents were reported while attempting to cross from Libya. These incidents affected 102 Pakistanis, with 71 dead and 30 rescued.
