ISLAMABAD (Lord Media): Federal Minister for Law Azam Nazeer Tarar emphasized at the OIC conference that women’s progress is crucial for the prosperity of the Muslim world. The 9th OIC Ministerial Conference on Women was held in Islamabad, attended by senior officials.
In his address, Azam Nazeer Tarar stated that the OIC chairmanship will be conducted with responsibility, consensus, and cooperation. He highlighted that women are serving in parliament, judiciary, civil service, business, and education, asserting that women’s development guarantees the growth and prosperity of the Muslim world.
He further added that economic and political empowerment of women is essential for sustainable development. He noted that Islam granted women respect, rights, and legal identity 1400 years ago. The OIC Action Plan and the Women Development Organization are crucial platforms.
Azam Nazeer Tarar mentioned that in Pakistan, financial inclusion, business opportunities, and leadership for women are being promoted. The National Gender Policy 2025 and the Prime Minister’s Women Empowerment Package are being implemented. He stated that providing safe and equal opportunities for women is a governmental priority.
