RIYADH (Lord Media): Saudi Arabia has launched a new visa package program for international tourists, initially benefiting citizens from seven countries, including Pakistan. According to the Saudi Ministry of Tourism, the new system aims to simplify the visa acquisition process for tourists. Travelers can now obtain an electronic tourist visa, along with flight tickets and hotel bookings, through a single package, eliminating the need for a separate visa application.
In the first phase, citizens of Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Egypt, Jordan, and Mexico will be able to avail themselves of this facility. The Ministry of Tourism stated that travelers must purchase the package through an approved travel agency. Upon payment completion, the electronic tourist visa, travel insurance, and other travel documents will be provided via email.
Reports indicate that the electronic visa will be issued within 48 hours of purchasing the approved package, removing the need to visit the Saudi embassy or submit a separate visa application. According to the ministry, this single-entry tourist visa will be valid for three months, allowing the visa holder to stay in Saudi Arabia for a minimum of two days and a maximum of 88 days.
The minimum cost for the initial two-day package is set at 4,000 Saudi Riyals per adult, with an additional charge of 1,000 Saudi Riyals for each extra day. Travelers can also include tourist activities, entertainment programs, and event tickets in their package for an additional fee.
The Saudi Ministry of Tourism clarified that this package visa does not include Umrah services, nor does it provide arrangements for Umrah in Mecca or Medina. However, visa holders can travel to various cities in Saudi Arabia, including Mecca and Medina, provided they adhere to relevant regulations.
The ministry further stated that if a travel package is canceled, the issued visa will be automatically canceled as well. Officials noted that more countries will be included in this program in the future. This initiative is part of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 strategy to promote tourism and increase the number of international tourists.
