EDINBURGH (Lord Media): The ICC has inducted former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly, English star Kevin Pietersen, and former Indian women’s captain Anjum Chopra into the Hall of Fame. Following the announcement at a ceremony in Edinburgh, the total number of Hall of Fame members has risen to 125.
ICC Chairman Jay Shah presented the Hall of Fame honors to Kevin Pietersen and Anjum Chopra at the event. In One Day Internationals, the opening partnership of Ganguly and Sachin Tendulkar is regarded as one of the most successful, with 21 century partnerships.
Kevin Pietersen scored 4,440 runs in 136 ODIs and was named Player of the Tournament during England’s victory in the 2010 T20 World Cup.
Former Indian women’s team captain Anjum Chopra played a pivotal role in establishing a strong foundation for women’s cricket in India. In 2016, she became the first Indian woman cricketer to receive honorary lifetime membership from the MCC.
