KARACHI (Lord Media): One of the world’s largest container ships, MSC ERICA, has arrived at Karachi Port. A spokesperson for Karachi Port Trust (KPT) stated that the arrival of this ship reflects the port’s safe and efficient handling capabilities.
MSC ERICA measures 398.5 meters in length and 59 meters in width, with a capacity of 20,000 TEUs. The ship’s gross tonnage is 194,308 metric tons, and it has a draft of 12.0 meters, classifying it among the world’s large container ships.
According to the spokesperson, over 3,000 containers are expected to be handled during the cargo operations at Karachi Port. Once operations are complete, the ship will depart for its next destination, Dalian, China.
The master of MSC ERICA praised the professional skills of Karachi Port’s pilots and regarded the port as one of the best in the region.
