KYIV (Lord Media): Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has announced the dismissal of Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, leading to the collective resignation of the country’s cabinet. President Zelensky stated that significant changes would be made in the leadership of the cabinet and law enforcement agencies.
President Zelensky expressed appreciation for Svyrydenko’s services on social media platform X, offering her a new position. However, he did not announce the name of the new prime minister.
Yulia Svyrydenko, an economist by profession, was appointed as prime minister in July 2025. According to the Ukrainian constitution, the parliament must approve the prime minister’s resignation.
Foreign media reports indicate that Ukraine has faced corruption scandals over the past year, leading to resignations within the presidential administration.
Parliamentary sources suggest that Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal, Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov, and Naftogaz head Serhiy Korytskyi are potential candidates.
