Toxic air blankets Arizona and Colorado, residents warned

WASHINGTON (Lord Media): Residents in Arizona and Colorado have been advised to stay indoors due to toxic air pollution. Authorities report that a mix of dust and smoke from wildfires has severely degraded air quality, increasing risks of respiratory issues and other health hazards.

An emergency air quality advisory has been issued in both states, urging residents to limit outdoor activities, avoid strenuous physical exertion, and keep windows closed where possible. Officials have warned that the situation poses a heightened risk to the elderly, young children, and individuals with asthma, heart, or respiratory conditions.

According to Arizona’s Department of Environmental Quality, levels of PM10, a fine particulate matter, may rise to unhealthy levels, potentially exacerbating lung and heart conditions. Meanwhile, smoke from wildfires is polluting the air in several regions of Colorado. Experts indicate that this smoke contains harmful gases and ultra-fine particles, including PM2.5, which can enter the lungs and bloodstream, adversely affecting the heart and respiratory system.
