Deadline ends for illegal Afghan residents

ISLAMABAD (Lord Media): The deadline for illegal Afghan residents in Pakistan has expired. The federal government has decided to expedite the deportation of Afghan citizens following the July 10 deadline. Any Afghan resident without a valid visa will be immediately arrested, and daily reports will be sent to the Ministry of Interior.

The report will include the number of Afghan citizens caught without visas and their current status. Individuals holding Afghan Citizen Cards will be sent to Afghanistan from the camp.

On June 28, 2026, the federal Ministry of Interior sent letters to the chief secretaries of all four provinces, the chief secretary of Gilgit-Baltistan, the chief secretary of Azad Kashmir, and the chief commissioner of Islamabad to implement the decisions.

The Ministry of Interior’s letter instructed all deputy commissioners, police, and law enforcement agencies to issue necessary directives.
