KARACHI (Lord Media): Sindh’s Minister for Universities has formed a high-level inquiry committee to investigate the clash between two student groups at the University of Karachi. According to a spokesperson, the five-member committee will be led by Dr. Hussain Mehdi, Vice Chancellor of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University Lyari. The committee is tasked with submitting its report to the Sindh Department of Universities and Boards within 15 days.
Minister Ismail Rahu stated that the investigation will be transparent and impartial to identify the responsible individuals and groups. He also directed a review of administrative and security lapses.
Meanwhile, a case regarding the clash has been registered at the Mobina Town police station on the complaint of an injured student, naming several individuals. The police have included charges of rioting and violence in the case.
Police officials reported that CCTV footage and other evidence are being collected, and efforts are underway to arrest the named suspects. Security at the University of Karachi has been tightened following the incident.
