RAWALPINDI (Lord Media): Police have solved the murder case of a 75-year-old woman in Dhoke Chiragh Din, Rawalpindi’s Civil Lines area. According to the police, the victim’s granddaughter and her husband were involved in the murder, motivated by the lure of jewelry. The elderly grandmother was strangled and the jewelry was sold. Both suspects have been arrested by the police.
In the last week of June, Muhammad Shehzad reported to Civil Lines police station that his mother, Zahra Khatoon, was found dead, initially assumed to be a natural death. However, signs of violence were discovered on her body during the funeral preparations, raising suspicions of murder.
Upon the complainant’s request, the police conducted a post-mortem and registered a case. Using modern techniques, they included the victim’s granddaughter, Bisma Babar, and her husband, Babar Ali, in the investigation. The suspects confessed to killing the grandmother and selling the jewelry.
SP Pothohar Sardar Babar Mumtaz stated that the suspects will be prosecuted according to the law and presented in court.
