Quetta sit-in ends after CM Sarfaraz Bugti’s assurances

QUETTA (Lord Media): The sit-in on Quetta’s Airport Road concluded following assurances from Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti, after a terrorism incident in the Harnai area. The Chief Minister attended the protest, listened to the demonstrators’ concerns, and promised that the government would address their issues. He assured financial aid, jobs, and education for the families of the martyrs.

On July 5, a terrorist attack in Harnai resulted in the deaths of four people, with 11 missing. On July 6, an attack in Kuch Mangi claimed the lives of 21 police officers, whose bodies were brought to Quetta.

The funeral prayers for the 14 police officers martyred in the Mangi Dam attack were held with state honors, and they were laid to rest. The sit-in by the martyrs’ families continues in Quetta.

In Ziarat, the protest by affected families outside the Deputy Commissioner’s complex has entered its fourth day, with demands for punishment for those responsible for the terrorist attack.
