WASHINGTON (Lord Media): Talks on a bilateral trade agreement between Pakistan and the United States have commenced in Washington. According to a Foreign Office spokesperson, the two-day negotiations on the ‘Reciprocal Trade Agreement’ are underway, with the Pakistani delegation led by Secretary of Commerce Jawad Paul. The discussions will continue today and tomorrow, with officials from relevant ministries participating via an online platform.
The Foreign Office spokesperson stated that detailed discussions on trade and tariff issues between the two countries are taking place. The negotiations aim to enhance Pakistan-US trade relations and facilitate bilateral trade. Identifying new opportunities for economic cooperation is also a key objective of the talks.
