MASHHAD (Lord Media): Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei and his family will be laid to rest today within the Imam Reza shrine complex. According to the Governor’s Office, their bodies were brought to Karbala last night, where 7 million mourners attended.
The bodies were taken to the shrines of Hazrat Abbas and Imam Hussain in Karbala. Prior to Karbala, the remains were brought to Najaf Ashraf, where funeral prayers were held at the shrine of Hazrat Ali.
The number of people gathered around the shrines was reported to be 3.8 million. On Monday in Tehran and Tuesday in Qom, millions participated in the funeral prayers for the martyred Seyyed Ali Khamenei and his family.
