Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One, Trump claimed that the U.S. has already achieved military success against Iran. He stated that Iran now has very few resources left and is eager to make a deal, though he is unsure if Iran will adhere to any agreement.
When asked why Iran targeted commercial ships if it seeks a deal, Trump remarked that Iran seems somewhat unstable and that the situation appears beyond their control, but they do want to negotiate.
The U.S. president emphasized that the U.S. has responded very strongly to Iran. He reiterated that if Iran attacks, the U.S. will retaliate with 20 times more force. When questioned about the possibility of the U.S. entering a full-scale military conflict with Iran, Trump said he could not comment on that, but noted that the U.S. has many paths to success and has already been successful militarily.
