Islamabad (Lord Media): The Election Commission of Pakistan has directed all political parties to submit their annual financial statements by August 29. According to the announcement, it is mandatory to submit these statements with complete documentation. Political parties are required to prepare and verify audited financial statements through a chartered accountant. Additionally, the statements must be signed by an authorized party official to maintain the documents’ legal status.
The announcement further states that a certification must be provided with the financial statements confirming that the respective political party has not received funds or financial assistance from any prohibited source. This requirement ensures financial transparency and full compliance with electoral laws.
The Election Commission also instructed that bank statements for the period from July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2026, be attached with the financial statements. The commission emphasized that timely and complete submission of financial statements is a legal obligation for political parties, and adherence to the prescribed procedure will help strengthen transparency and accountability in the political system.
