Bushra Bibi’s daughter files complaint against jail

Rawalpindi (Lord Media): Bushra Bibi’s daughter, Mubashra Sheikh, has filed a petition against Adiala Jail authorities in the session court, alleging negligence, mistreatment, and inhumane behavior by jail staff. The petition was submitted through Advocate Faisal Malik. After the initial hearing, Additional District and Sessions Judge Khurram Saleem issued a notice to the prosecution, seeking a response by July 16.

The petition claims that Bushra Bibi complained of severe eye pain during her detention, but the jail administration failed to provide timely medical attention. This delay reportedly worsened her eye condition, necessitating immediate surgery.

The Islamabad High Court has sought a report from the Superintendent of Adiala Jail regarding the alleged solitary confinement of Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi. The petition accuses jail official Maryam of inhumane treatment towards Bushra Bibi, with no effective action taken despite further complaints.

The petitioner has requested the court to ensure a transparent investigation, take action against those responsible, and issue orders to guarantee appropriate medical facilities and humane treatment for prisoners.
