Lahore (Lord Media): The NCCIA has arrested a woman involved in creating fake WhatsApp accounts and groups in Lahore. The action was taken following a complaint by the PTA. The accused, Safia Afzal, a resident of Sahiwal, has been charged.
The woman is accused of illegally creating and selling fake WhatsApp accounts and groups using active SIM cards. The NCCIA recovered 310 active SIM cards from various mobile networks and mobile phones from her possession.
A case has been registered against the accused under the PECA Act, and investigations into the organized network of fake WhatsApp groups are ongoing.
