Ex-Australia spinner Stuart MacGill’s bail rejected

Sydney (Lord Media): Former Australian cricketer Stuart MacGill’s bail application has been rejected in a drug case. MacGill was sentenced in 2025 to one year and ten months in prison, along with 495 days of community work. The former cricketer had filed an appeal in the New South Wales Court of Criminal Appeal, which was dismissed.

MacGill was sentenced for involvement in a drug deal concerning financial transactions, although he claimed he was unaware of any deal. Stuart MacGill represented Australia in 44 Test matches from 1998 to 2008.
