UN warns millions of Afghans need urgent support

Kabul (Lord Media): Afghanistan faces a severe employment crisis, with 74% of the population struggling with hunger, according to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA). The agency reports a dire humanitarian situation under Taliban rule.

OCHA highlighted on social media platform X that ineffective policies by the Taliban government have severely impacted millions of families.

Former Afghan President’s spokesperson, Sediq Sediqqi, stated that the Taliban regime has turned Afghanistan into the world’s poorest nation, revealing that 29 million Afghan citizens live below the poverty line.

Edem Wosornu, Director of OCHA, noted that resource shortages and restrictions on women are exacerbating public hardships in Afghanistan.
