Islamabad (Lord Media): Federal Minister for Information, Atta Tarar, has asserted that Pakistan’s rights over water under the Indus Waters Treaty are inalienable and crucial for the nation’s survival. He stated on social media platform X that India’s unilateral suspension of the treaty is neither legally valid nor morally justified.
The minister further remarked that India’s actions have resulted in nothing but international embarrassment. He emphasized that this conduct violates the United Nations-endorsed ‘One Water, One Vision’ principle, which advocates for equitable and responsible use of water resources.
He assured that Pakistan will continue to pursue all possible diplomatic and legal measures to safeguard its water rights under the Indus Waters Treaty.
