Islamabad (Lord Media): Federal Minister for Information Technology, Shaza Fatima, assured that the telecom bill will not forcibly seize anyone’s private land or property. She mentioned that categories regarding private properties will be established.
During a press conference with Federal Minister for Law, Azam Nazeer Tarar, Shaza Fatima clarified that allegations of financial irregularities and other charges related to the telecom bill are baseless. She urged the Prime Minister to conduct an inquiry into the accusations made against the bill.
She stated that the purpose of the new telecom bill is to ensure the provision of high-speed internet across the country, and the legislation is being developed through consensus.
Federal Minister for Law, Azam Nazeer Tarar, emphasized that permission from the owner is mandatory for laying fiber on private property. He revealed that the Telecommunications Act bill has been approved with six amendments.
Azam Nazeer Tarar further added that the committee found no evidence of favoritism towards any single company, and it has directed the removal of all loopholes in the bill.
