Zhob (Lord Media): The identities of 26 victims in the Danasar bus accident have been confirmed, while the transport department has sealed the office of the private transport company involved. According to rescue sources, 33 bodies were transferred to Zhob Civil Hospital, with 26 identified and sent to their native areas. The identification process for others is ongoing.
Officials stated that women and children were among the deceased, including four women, one child, and two men whose identities remain unknown. Their bodies are currently at Zhob Civil Hospital. The identified victims hailed from Peshawar, Malakand, Bajaur, Waziristan, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, Qila Abdullah, and Bhakkar.
Rescue sources confirmed that the bus driver, Babu Ustad, was also among the deceased. Following the Chief Minister of Balochistan’s directive, the transport department has sealed the office of the private company at Quetta’s Jabal Noor bus terminal.
The transport department stated that preliminary investigations revealed alleged negligence, leading to the office’s closure. The company will face ongoing action until investigations are complete. The Secretary of Transport is tasked with determining the accident’s causes and initiating legal action against those responsible.
Officials noted that a crackdown on transport companies has commenced across the province to prevent future accidents.
