Police identify six in Rangers attack case

Karachi (Lord Media): Police have identified six terrorists, including Umar Qari, a commander of the banned Jamaat-ul-Ahrar, as masterminds behind the attack on a Rangers transport company in Gulistan-e-Johar. The case was registered at the CTD police station on the complaint of Rangers Sub-Inspector Asad Mahmood Khan.

The charges include terrorism, murder, attempted murder, damage to government property and vehicles, illegal arms and explosives possession, recovery, terrorist conspiracy, and terrorism.

According to police, on June 27, 2026, a terrorist carried out a suicide bombing at the gate of the Rangers Workshop Company, resulting in the martyrdom of three Rangers personnel. Subsequently, armed terrorists attacked with gunfire and hand grenades.

In a retaliatory operation by Special Forces and QRF, two terrorists were killed, and one was captured injured, who disclosed the names of his accomplices as Umar, Abdul Hadi, and Janan.

The arrested terrorist revealed he came from Jalalabad, Afghanistan, and was associated with the banned Jamaat-ul-Ahrar, sent to Pakistan to plan attacks on Rangers personnel.
