Govt raises petrol levy by Rs6.22 per litre

Islamabad (Lord Media): The government has increased the petroleum levy on petrol, denying the public relief despite a continuous decline in global oil prices. The levy on petrol has been raised by 6.22 rupees per litre, setting the new rate at 70.36 rupees per litre.

The government has made significant adjustments to petroleum product prices for a week. Conversely, the petroleum levy on diesel has been reduced by 6.22 rupees per litre, with the high-speed diesel levy now at 70.82 rupees per litre.

The petroleum levy on kerosene remains unchanged at 20.36 rupees per litre. Additionally, a carbon levy of 5 rupees per litre on petroleum products is also maintained.
