Colombia advances to World Cup last 16

Colombia (Lord Media): Colombia secured a spot in the FIFA World Cup’s last 16 by defeating Ghana 1-0 in the pre-quarterfinals. The decisive goal was scored by Jhon Arias in the 14th minute, assisted by a brilliant cross from Luis Suarez.

Colombian striker Jhon Cordoba was forced to leave the field due to injury, while Ghana’s defender Marvin Senaya also suffered a hamstring injury. Despite continuous attacks, Colombia was unable to extend their lead as Ghana’s goalkeeper Lawrence Ati Zigi made several impressive saves.

Luis Diaz had a goal disallowed for offside, and Ghana failed to register a single shot on target throughout the match. Colombia will face Switzerland next, with a potential clash against Argentina anticipated.

Ghana became the seventh African team to exit the tournament, leaving only Morocco and Egypt in the competition.
