Islamabad (Lord Media): The government has once again extended an invitation to the opposition to sign the Charter of Democracy. Defence Minister Khawaja Asif addressed the opposition during a speech in the National Assembly, urging them to correct past mistakes and sign the charter.
He highlighted that decisions made in the past from the Speaker’s chair were often in favor of party interests. He emphasized that political parties should learn from past errors.
Asif noted that two parties have already learned from history and signed the Charter of Democracy, suggesting that PTI should also reflect on its past. He accused the PTI founder of damaging the parliamentary system.
Furthermore, Asif commented on Mehmood Khan Achakzai’s association with PTI, stating it seems odd given Achakzai’s own traditions. He criticized PTI for lacking democracy and culture, claiming they have removed civility from politics.
