Karachi (Lord Media): The central 8th Muharram procession will commence from Nishtar Park today in Karachi. The procession will commemorate the great sacrifice of Hazrat Abbas, the standard-bearer of Imam Hussain. Before the procession, a Majlis-e-Aza will be held at 11 AM at Nishtar Park, where renowned scholar Allama Shahenshah Hussain Naqvi will deliver a sermon.
The procession is set to begin around 12 PM, led by Sadat Amroha, with guidance from Abul Hassan Scouts and Amroha Scouts. It will proceed from Shahnawaz Bhutto Road to MA Jinnah Road, reaching the central Numaish Chowrangi where the Zuhr prayers will be offered. The procession will conclude at Hussainia Iranian in Kharadar.
According to the administration, special security and traffic arrangements have been made for the procession. A police spokesperson stated that over 5,000 police personnel will be on security duty across the city.
