Lahore (Lord Media): Lahore’s Gulshan-e-Iqbal police arrested a rickshaw driver accused of harassing a university student after a timely response to a 15 emergency call. According to police, the student boarded the rickshaw to attend an exam, but the driver took her to a deserted alley instead of her destination.
The student repeatedly requested the driver to reach her exam venue on time, but the accused allegedly imposed a condition that she accompany him after the exam to be dropped off. After completing her exam, the student called the driver back and simultaneously informed the police.
Upon receiving the information, Gulshan-e-Iqbal police arrived at the scene and arrested the suspect, identified as Amjad. A case has been registered on the complaint of the student’s father, and the investigation has been handed over to the Case Investigation Wing.
SP Iqbal Town Sidra Khan commended the Gulshan-e-Iqbal police for the arrest, stating that strict legal action will continue against those harassing women, and such individuals belong in jail.
