Islamabad (Lord Media): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar stated that Israeli attacks on Lebanon have impacted the US-Iran negotiation process, though there is nothing negative in the agreement. Speaking to Arab media, he mentioned that efforts to bring American and Iranian delegations to the negotiation table were halted due to these attacks.
Ishaq Dar revealed that after reconciliation efforts, technical-level talks have resumed under the recent memorandum of understanding. These negotiations include discussions on Iran’s nuclear program, sanctions, and frozen assets.
The Deputy Prime Minister further stated that Pakistan is playing a facilitative role throughout the process, with a 30-day period set to resolve certain matters and a 60-day timeframe for the overall agreement.
He also noted that ships can pass through the Strait of Hormuz for 60 days without any tariff, only needing to pay standard navigation or service fees.
Ishaq Dar added that President Donald Trump has guided the US-Iran talks, while Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Egypt, and the UAE are supporting the mediation process.
